Today's outfit really reminded me of summer and the sunsets I see here in Hawaii.  It's time for Summer, my eldest finishing up his last week of school before summer vacation and while it still seems kind of like Spring here, to me - it is technically Summer Months.

My Tangerine Orange dress from Old Navy was the perfect fit for today.  It was not only cool but allowed me to be comfortable and still manage to get all of my errands done without fussing with hot clothing layers.   It's a basic high wasted flared dress with eyelet lace detailing.  It is super fun and very flirty.   The dress itself is similar to my Yellow one that I wore in my "You Fill My Heart with Sunshine" Look - but the pattern
is different in the dress eyelet itself.  I wished I had grabbed all the colors,
because these are becoming favorites of mine to wear.

For accessories today, I kept with a Gold theme - to match with my Tangerine Orange Dress.

Blue Goldstone Bangle from HoneyXO
Rose Bud Wire Bangle from HoneyXO
Princess Cut Amethyst 14K Gold Ring - Gift from my Hubby

For my footwear - I pulled out my Marco Santi 5 inche Wedges in black.  These are probably one of my favorite sandals I own because they are super comfortable, have a zipper closure on the heel and they are very easy to walk in.  I love that they are so simple in design and go with pretty much any type of ensemble I put together.
I got these wedges from Sole Society a year or two ago and they still remain one of my favorites.

For my hair today, I opted for a low messy bun.  Honestly, I just twisted it up and headed out the door.  It was fast and easy and allowed me to get where I had to go quickly today.

The photo to the left happens to be my favorite. I am not big on smiling... and my son happened to ask me just seconds before... "Mom, why don't you smile in your photos?"  I answered him by saying: "I'm not sure!" He replied to me by saying... "I bet dad can make you smile" and low and behold, I had a big smile on my face and he caught that image.  Sometimes it's the thought of someone you love that will bring so much joy and happiness to your day!

For my Makeup Lovers... My Makeup for today includes:  My Lorac Pro Palette, Too Faced Shadow Insurance,  Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Teddy Bear, Starlooks Lash Primer and L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara.

Just like with my other photos - my eldest son captured today's Outfit pics for me.
He is definitely my little professional photog.  I am super impressed with the images that he
has been able to capture of me since he started.   This post is a little more pic heavy than most of my OOTD's and that's because I am so proud of the photos he took, I just couldn't choose a few so I put them all. :)

"There's a difference between being confident and being cocky.  I consider myself Confident... because I am proud of my hard work and accomplishments and the road that it is taking me on!" ~ Honey

I think this look of the day really shows a more confident side of me.   The poses came natural and I felt really good about myself - super proud of the weight I'm continuing to lose and the healthier side of me.  I think this post over all the rest definitely shows that off a little more and I'm not trying to be a show-off, I'm just really confident and excited for my journey ahead of me and the one parts that I have overcome so far.

My sons and I headed over to the St. Joseph's Feast - an annual mini carnival to raise money for the church and pre-school.  Since it had been so hot - I decided I wanted to dress comfortable.  See what else I wore and what my face of the day looked like as well.  Click READ MORE to see more pics and the video!

I absolutely LOVE Spring... and I love Pastels and soft colors that come with the Spring Season.  I will admit however, being a plus-size woman does not leave me for much room when it comes to dressing "spring like" because Pastel colors can often add a little extra pounds when we don't want it to.   In the past - my go to Spring fashion choices would include a pair of jeans and a cute pastel top... but the last couple of years I have been trying to expand my collection of clothing as I now feel much more confident in my own skin.  Ten years ago - I weighted over 100 lbs less and so it has been a bit of a challenge to find the clothes that make me feel proud to be who I am.
Picture
I'm still on the road to finding myself... and I'm also on the road to getting back on my weight loss, but for now - I'm still a plus sized woman and I have to find the clothes that not only make me confident in how I look, but also look great on me.  The fact of the matter is, yes - I am losing weight and getting back on track, but by making myself feel like crap or not trying to make myself feel and look good, it's only hindering my progress.

I remember when stripes on a full figured/larger woman was a huge no-no, but I have decided that I really like them so I figured I would rock this outfit for Easter Sunday.

My Outfit includes:
  • Forever 21 Plus Size Hi-Low Striped Maxi Dress - Salmon and White
  • Forever 21 Plus Size Cropped denim vest
  • Old Navy Glitter Flip Flops (not pictured - I decided I would use those instead of my heels so that I would not only be comfortable but I could chase after my children while they were hunting for Easter Eggs)
  • Just Fab Nude Platform Pumps (I showed these in the Video - this is something I would have worn if I wasn't walking in the grass all day)
  • Love Collar Bracelet - Shoplately.com
  • Love Bangle Bracelet - Shoplately.com
  • Chain link bracelet - which I made myself
  • Pink Pyramid Style cuff bracelet - Forever 21
  • Daisy Headband - Claire's
  • Gold and Amethyst Ring (gift from my hubby a few years ago)
  • Gold Teddy Bear pendant and chain (gift from my hubby several years ago)
  • Gold Plumeria Earrings with Diamond center (gift from hubby several years ago)
  • Invicta Divers Watch (gift from hubby but you can buy from Macy's)

My Makeup that I did on this day is the same as my Purple Velvet FOTD which you can find here with the list of products that I used.

It seems like forever since I filmed and OOTD and I still haven't figured out a way that I want to do them... because setting up my tripod and trying to get it filmed on thick grass is usually not ideal.  Once I find a place I can set up my Tripod to film where the ground is steady and I won't fall in my 5 inch heels, I will certainly be filming more of them because I absolutely love fashion as much as I love beauty and I want to offer ideas for simple and even affordable fashions for my plus sized beauties out there.   If you want to see it all on video - the video is embedded below or you can click here.

When I first started doing YouTube videos... there were not many Plus sized ladies out there showing their awesome fashions and I want others to feel comfortable and know that they are beautiful!  Don't forget... Sparkle is NEVER Optional - so sprinkle a little Glitter on your day, smile like you are Sparkling and shine bright!
Love ya all!
xoxo

As I was getting ready to head out to take care of the things I had planned on my list on Friday... I wanted to create a look that would easily take me from day to night - since I knew it was going to be a long day.  Purple eye shadow looks are always a great go-to for me when I'm having days like this... because I can blend it out and if I want to add a more dramatic or smokey look later in the day - I can add a little more purple in the crease or outer v for some extra drama.

The photo taken above was taken at least 6 hours after I applied my makeup - the sun was already starting to set, because the weather was gloomy and it was raining.  I love how well Tarte shadows hold up to the long wear as well as crazy days like the one I had when I wore this makeup look.  Hours later and my makeup still hadn't budged one bit.  I did reapply my lipstick through the day - but honestly, not much - because Milani color statement lipsticks are AWESOME and the new Hard Candy Gloss Sticks are wonderful as well.   Check out the list of products below.

Brown eyes (light to medium brown)
I decided I was going to do a bold look for Valentine's Day as well... since I already did a wearable one (You can watch here).  I also wanted to take out my Sedona Lace 168 palette and check out the colors... as well as my new Urban Decay Theodora Palette and try out a few colors.  I'm pretty happy with how the look came out... it was bold but still super wearable.

This look truly was inspired by my husband.  I missed him that day (as I do every day that he works) and threw on his Green T-shirt so I could get the essence of his cologne and his scent.  I was inspired thereafter to do a look that was inspired because of the shirt I was wearing and thought it would be a great opportunity to do another St. Patty's Day look.

When I got started on the look, I thought to myself... "hey, another look I can use for my Green, Hazel & Brown eyes series" and decided I would choose colors that would compliment those eye colors.  I was pretty happy with how the eye look came out.  As you can see in one of the photos - I actually edited my eyes to look green so you could see the full affect.  My eyes naturally give off a hazel look to them depending on the lighting and what I'm wearing that day - so the image below actually shows how my eyes lighten and brighten depending on those factors.  The image above shows what my eyes normally are in the dark.  I waiting for the light to vary after doing the look so I could take the images so that they would affect my natural eye color for the right variations.

I wanted to do a look that would be St. Patty's Day inspired since it is just around the bend.  I don't use green eye shadow often and I thought this would be the opportune time for me to showcase a look that would be great for Green or Brown eyes.  The goal for this look was to keep it very wearable and make it easy to recreate.   Using a few new palettes that I won in a giveaway - I kind of started this look on a whim and had nothing planned out originally... but as I started applying the first few colors, I figured out how I wanted this look to go.

My goal was to really showcase the green, not really as a bright pop of color, but something that was wearable and something that would really make brown and green eyes sparkle.  Because... Sparkle is NEVER Optional!

Products used:
  • ELF Eye Shadow Primer
  • BH Cosmetics Jenni Rivera palette
  • BH Cosmetics Party Girl Palette
  • Mally Sparkle Liner in Black
  • ELF Liquid Liner
  • NYX Circe Lipstick
  • Urban Decay Super Curl Curling Mascara

I hope you liked this St. Patrick's Day inspired look.  This look is perfect if you have Green or Brown eyes. :)  To view the video tutorial on YouTube, click here: http://youtu.be/TG6zR4ofs3s

This week was pretty busy and kept me on my toes.  Because of this, I tried to keep my looks simple and wearable so that I would not feel restricted or like I had a lot of makeup on or heavy clothing.  My hair was also super simple, it was a messy bun type of week. lol

Hope you all had a wonderful week.  This upcoming week will be very heckteck and crazy for me - so if you do not see much of me on my blog, that is why.  I have several photoshoots and promise to post sneak peaks here.  Wishing you all a wonderful upcoming week.

I did this FOTD yesterday.  I was seriously inspired by the color purple and Valentine's Day.  It was the first makeup look I photographed using my Tarte and Lorac Pro Palettes.  I have used them several times but didn't take any pictures - so this was my opportunity.  I also loved the fact that by the time I was able to take my photos - the lighting was absolutely awesome.  I didn't get a chance to snap my photos till about 5pm - so the sun was just setting, afternoon sunlight was not harsh and of course, I was really able to bring out my natural skin tone.

I must also say (though I will get into detail in a later post) that I am so proud of how my skin has progressed.  Not using Foundation has definitely made such a huge difference in my life and how my skin has been looking lately.  It just goes to show that great skin care and the fact that I'm not clogging my pores with funk makes a whole lot of difference.

You can find a list of products I used below.  Hope you like this FOTD - I really loved it and I'm glad it came out the way it did.  I had a thought in my mind in the color combos and how I wanted it to look and went to it.  I'm pretty happy with how it came out :)  If you want a tutorial on it - please let me know and I will do one.  While it includes a lot of layering of colors - it is such an easy look to create because it's all about blending. :)
Products used:

Shadows: Tarte Baby It's Cold Outside Palette (Macaroon, bubble bath, gossip and velvet, 24 carats)
Lorac Pro Palette (Deep Purple)
Liner: Mally Evercolor Starlight Liner and ELF's Liquid Liner
Lashes: Maybelline Plush Mascara and Benefit's They're Real Mascara
Lips: (Liner) MAC's Buerre liner, (Lipstick) Wet n Wild's V.I. Pink and (Lipgloss) MAC's Viva Glam VI Lipglass

When I created this look, I wanted to achieve a smokey sultry look that anyone could pull off.  Last year my Winter Wonderland Makeup tutorial was very popular and this year I really wanted to bump it up and make it much more sultry.

While this look is a bit smokey - it is still very wearable and can be used by anyone.  It's a great look for a Holiday party or a night on the town, or even to use to the office for the day.

Products used:
Primer: Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Shadows:  HoneyXO shadows in: Cinder-Ella, Peaches & Creme, Chantilly, Chocolate, Vanilla
Liner: Milani Liquif'eye in Black and HoneyXO shadow in New Moon to smoke out the liner
Mascara: Benefit's They're Real Mascara
Lips: HoneyXO's Bite Me lipgloss and Poison Bite Lipstick
Earrings:  HoneyXO Twisted Woven hoops in black
Scarf: I've had this scarf for 2 years or more. I bought it at old navy.
As you can see, I took different photos to showcase that this look is very versatile and be used with any choice that you wear your hair. I like that it offers a lot of "Glam" with the hair up and a flirty and sultry look when your hair is worn down.  Pair this look with your favorite scarf, in any color.  Because this look features all browns, it can easily soak up a lot of color in clothing and statement pieces like a scarf or beenie would make great accessories and complete the look.  I hope you enjoy this tutorial which is embedded below. :)  Happy Holidays to all of you and God bless.
